Today while moving around the old campus of DAV College ( Now it is Govt.College) , Koraput at Landiguda I tried my best to go back yo the days of 1982 when I was a first year student of Intermediate Science (ISC) in this college .I went around with slow steps recalling the soft and hard memories of those days .This campus was almost like a Home away from home .We were coming to this campus in the morning at about 10 am only to go back at 4-5 pm as we had to wait for the bus to carry .Those days we had wonderful teachers in the college who were making our days packed with academic activities .Practical classes with a group of 16 students was inspiring .Everyone was almost known to each other as in the entire campus only students from science stream were there while other faculties were on in Panchayat Bhavan at Koraput .Students too were so serious in attending classes .I touched the windows of the class room no.5 and 8 which were the two classrooms where most of our classes were taken .I sat for a while in the backside of the college building where we enjoyed Pakodi and Chana very often as that was the only thing that was available in the campus .I say near the statue of Sahid Laxman Nayak .Learnt that it was repaired many times for being defaced by unknown miscreants from time to time .Much of the Pty space have been occupied by hostel buildings .The Eucalyptus plantation where we used to see how new lovers took time yo meet each other hiding from the eyes of friends and teachers .Today there was no need of hiding .Lovers have gathered much courage to walk on open roads inside the campus .May their love story end with a sweet note .Now while listening the horns of different vehicles I could recall how we were running on the muddy road ( many times I fell ) which is now pucca road to catch that truck or bus to go back home .I remember how we were jealous of students who were coming from Sunabeda .They had special buses given by HAL .Now I dont have yo worry for the time as I had my motorbike and am in the process of recalling sweet and sour memories .
