Todays Better Awards nominee is an amazing story that lifted my spirit and inspired me to always do whatever it takes to make my dreams come true! Meet Team HOYT! Rick Hoyt was born in 1962 with a severe brain damage. When Rick was 15 he told his father he wanted to participate in a 5-mile benefit run for a LAcrosse player who had been paralyzed. His father Dick agreed to push Rick in his wheelchair and finish the run. Rick told his father he doesnt feel handicapped when theyre running. Thats when Team Hoyt was born. Together theyve completed over 1000 races. Dick and Rick biked and ran across the US in 45 days in 1992 and there last run was in 2009 at the Boston Marathon.
