Todays Bible Reading is taken from Galatians 5:13-21 which stands to remind us that we are granted life only through the spirit. Recently, I was having a conversation with a very good friend and our sharing revealed many things to me --about me! One very important thing that God showed me was though I try very hard to life a spirit filled life. My actions reveal something VERY, VERY different. For years, I viewed myself as open minded, cutting-edge thinker, opening to learning and embracingNEWNESS. And, so I came to loathe people who I deemed as being stuck in yesterday - or stuck in their own way...refusing to embrace change. This conversation revealed that I had become the very thing that I dislike. This passage is challenging me to reassess attitudes, behaviors and thinking as a believer and to embrace the newness that Christ suffered that I might obtain. Coming to the realization that I have been hindering my own growth and development is a hard pill to swallow but I am growing in the knowledge that I cant expect more from others than I am expect of myself. Change is challenging but as Paul has written here, I must not become a hindrance, roadblock desperately wanting us to do what I myself refuse to do. On this day, I pledge to live a more purposeful and living giving existence --by supporting and serving as a conduit whereby others will be able to Be the Change they Seek in the World
