Todays Devotional 31:10:2013: It Is Yea And Amen “Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In Him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident” 2 Corinthians 1:20 (MSG) Many times God’s promises appear far-fetched. They look like something that can never happen. You look at yourself, look at the natural circumstance and declare that it is impossible; but one thing is clear: If God has said it, then that settles it. God does not play on words – He says what He means and means what He says. His words are yea and amen. In fact, heaven and earth can pass away, but His word cannot. You need to come to terms with the immutability of the word of God. When God says a thing, then He does not need you to bring it to pass. His word has enough power to come to pass. Think about it: is there any word of Jesus that did not come to pass? When He rebuked the wind, it obeyed. When He spoke to the sea, it stopped. When He spoke to the dead, they came alive. When He spoke to the sick, irrespective of the sickness, they got healed. When the tax collectors came, His word brought the money in the mouth of the fish. When he spoke to the tree, it obeyed and dried up. Take out time and read the gospels, you will confirm that with Jesus, NOTHING was impossible and you and Jesus are one. So what makes you think that anything will be impossible for you? Take time out to look at every promise God has made to you and begin to thank Him for them. Thank God for that house, the car, the job, the school, the admission, the finance, the spouse, the child, whatever it is you have asked Him for. You might be faced with contrary situation, but in it, rejoice. Thank Him that it is done. When Jesus cursed the fig tree, He moved on. He did not sit around to watch if the tree will die or not. He knew that it was impossible for His word to fall to the ground. In fact when the disciples expressed surprise the next day, He simply told them the principle – have faith and doubt not, you can say to the mountain, be removed and cast into the sea and it shall be done (Matt. 21:21). Understand that you and Jesus are one. The same power that worked in Him is resident in you. Don’t let the enemy rob you of your testimony with unbelief; rejoice and again I say rejoice. Your testimony shall be noised abroad. Further Reading: Matthew 21: 19 – 22; Daily Bible Reading: Morning: Jeremiah 22-23; Evening Titus 1
