Todays Devotional #ShareIfYouAreBlessed! But you know, when I felt impressed that we would get married that year, I had resorted to the only option I had. I stood on God’s word. I believed. My fiancée and I would go the school field around our area and pray and confess God ‘s word for hours, for several days, and months! God’s word will always work when there is no alternative. Was I scared? Yes! Was there doubt? Yes, but while the doubt was swimming in my head, God’s word was resident in my heart. It’s okay as long as the doubt stays in your head, never let it access your heart. Eventually, God’s word prevailed! Which scripture were we standing on then? For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, (we added this: to get married before the end of this year) and I know that I shall not be ashamed. (Isaiah 50:7 KJV) We must have confessed that scripture a million times, literarily! My fiancée and I had calculated all we would need to buy things and it came to one hundred and twenty thousand. We confessed that all day! So, when my dad asked me how much I had in savings, I said a hundred and twenty thousand. He looked at me, and said, “so you have that much?” I said “Yes.” He thought a little bit and he knew I could be saying that by faith. He looked at me and said, “Since you have that much, do you agree that I would not give you any money towards this wedding?” I was trapped! I couldn’t back up then if I wanted to wed that year.
