Todays Fun Fact: When filming Star Wars, director Ron Howard utilised items from his own house. To create the Death Star attack, the xwings were made out of tinfoil. The surface if the Death Star was actually the circuit board from inside Rons mums old vintage Television. The tinfoil xwings were pulled across the surface in several different directions. To create the blasts and explosions, Ron just put the whole set up into a microwave and switched it on for two minutes whilst filming from the outside. To create the Death Star destruction, he simply hurled the old TV tube down his toilet making it explode.
