Todays Good News: A citizen emailed the Department on Friday to commend Major Crimes’ Detective Anthony L. Jackson for his helpful actions last week when her car caught fire. The fire caused a lot of smoke and flames, which drew the attention of Detective Jackson, who was headed in the opposite direction but stopped to assist. Even though he had been in court all morning and was running errands before he officially went on duty later that afternoon, he took care of everything, the woman wrote. “He coordinated with fire responders and other emergency units that had arrived on the scene. He made sure I had all the information I needed for follow up to the incident. He made sure I did not need medical assistance. He even carried the dirty, sooty salvageable items from my car over the hill to his car!” she wrote. “He then assisted me and drove me to my brothers home where again he carried the dirty items to their porch. During the entire episode he showed knowledge, leadership, and compassion. All this on his own time. I hope you will share this with the highest of ranks. Thank you for your caring, competent police force.”
