Todays Good News: RPD K-9 Phantom’s reputation is so good it sometimes causes criminals to stop right in their tracks. And that’s exactly what we want them to do. That was the situation recently when officers were called to a home in the West End to investigate a report of an in-progress burglary. Third Precinct Officer Jasmine Winn interviewed the victims and swiftly broadcast the suspects’ descriptions.K-9 Officer Monty Agee spotted the suspects on nearby Commonwealth Avenue and gave chase while giving warnings that K-9 Phantom would be released if they did not stop. The pair of burglars quickly stopped. With the assistance of Third Precinct Focus Mission Team officers and K-9 Officer Sammy Hernandez at the original scene, the pair was taken into custody, interviewed and charged accordingly. Good teamwork officers!
