Todays Good Word.....Is It True And Why Read The Bible? D Miracle of It All. “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, Jesus explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.” and mind you the New Testament was not even written then (Luke 24:27). Only God could have put the Bible together. It’s 66 books written over 1,600 years by 40 authors — and it has one theme. Having a single unified theme is one of the reasons we know that the Bible is God’s Word. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is all about God redeeming man, and Jesus is its star. The fact that the Bible has only one theme is nothing short of a miracle. It’d be one thing if one person wrote the Bible. The Koran was written by one person, Mohammed. The Analects of Confucius were written by Confucius. The writings of Buddha were written by Buddha. You’d expect them to be uniform. The Bible, on the other hand, was written by 40 different people, at every age and in every stage of life, on three continents. And they all wrote the same story — Jesus’ story. Prophets and poets, princes and kings, and sailors and soldiers all had the same story. Some were written in homes, others in prisons, and others on ships. You couldn’t have put together a more diverse group of authors. Yet the story is the same. Imagine you give fifty people a piece of paper, and tell them to tear their pieces of paper into different shapes — but you never tell them how your going to use them. What’s the likelihood you will be able to take those pieces of paper and make a map of India out of them? Those odds would be astronomically low. If you did that, most people would think it was a trick. And yet, that’s the miracle of how the Bible was put together. Think about that. We tend to think that the New Testament is about Jesus and the Old Testament is about Israel. But that’s not true. The Bible says in Luke 24:27, “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, Jesus explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself”. The pictures, the metaphors, the analogies, and the illusions — from beginning to end — are about God’s plan to redeem people and build a family for eternity. It all began with .Jesus. You can see him in every book. That’s the miracle of how the Bible was put together. Sad that a vast majority have made vain repetitive prayers, man made shrines to this that and the other as their foundation and criteria for religion and call themselves Christians....Listen and listen well the word of God The Bible should be the only foundation/criteria for a Christian and a book to read and lived by. Why Read? Because it gives us the answers to : What is the purpose to life? Where did I come from? Is there life after death? How do I get to heaven? Why is the world full of evil? Why do I struggle to do good? In addition to these big questions, the Bible gives much practical advice in areas such as: What do I look for in a mate? How can I have a successful marriage? How can I be a good friend? How can I be a good parent? What is success and how do I achieve it? How can I change? What really matters in life? How can I live so that I do not look back with regret? How can I handle the unfair circumstances and bad events of life victoriously? Also because it is totally reliable and without error. The Bible is unique among so-called holy books in that it does not merely give moral teaching and say, Trust me. Rather, we have the ability to test it by checking the hundreds of detailed prophecies that it makes, by checking the historical accounts it records, and by checking the scientific facts it relates. Those who say the Bible has errors have their ears closed to the truth. Jesus once asked which is easier to say, Your sins are forgiven you, or Rise, take up your bed and walk. Then He proved He had the ability to forgive sins (something we cannot see with our eyes) by healing the paralytic (something those around Him could test with their eyes). Similarly, we are given assurance that Gods Word is true when it discusses spiritual areas that we cannot test with our senses by showing itself true in those areas that we can test, such as historical accuracy, scientific accuracy, and prophetic accuracy. •How does your appreciation for the Bible reflect an understanding of the miracle of its cohesiveness? •If you had to sum up the Bible in one sentence in your own words, what would you say? •What are some ways you can make the Bible more personal to you? Blessings me friends and have a great weekend. -mark.d
