Todays Kimberly Schrink medical update: The kidneys are continuing to show improvement. PTL!! Her Creatnine is 2.98 down from 18.9 on Friday night). BUN is 26 from 80. Target numbers are under 2.0 and under 20 before they can do the PET SCAN to determine if there are other trouble spots in other parts of her body. The docs think theyll be there either Thursday or Friday. And this rapid improvement seems to suggest there hasnt been long-term or lasting damage to the kidneys. Again, PTL!! Assuming a clean report from the PET Scan, she could be released to go home and start the 5 weeks of external radiation and chemo in Seymour. After that, itll be 2 weeks of internal radiation and more chemo in Indy. At that point, there will be other decisions made based on where things stand. Bottom line is this is just the beginning of a long hard road for my sweet little sister. Please continue to pray for her courage to battle this thing, strength and patience for Jim to help carry her thru it, and incredible wisdom and skill for her awesome doctors and nurses. And if you can, another small prayer for her family. We love her so much and want her with us for many more years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
