@Todays Plenary, i moved a MOTION ON THE HEAVY STORMS AND SRONG WIND THAT DESTROYED PROPERTIES ACROSS OGO- OLUWA/SURULERE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. The House notes: with serious concern, the recent heavy downpour that was accompanied by strong wind and heavy storm at Idi - Araba and Mowolowo towns in Ogo - Oluwa Local Government, as well as Iresaadu,Iresaapa,Onipanu, Tunbi,Adudu and Igbo-Ile towns in Surulere Local Government areas of Oyo - State, which lead to destruction of buildings from roofs to Walls. Further notes: that the destructions that followed were so unprecedented that it has made scores of Families homeless, as well as Churches and Mosques destroyed. Aware that: apart from the Families that were rendered homeless, and places of worship that were destroyed, the destruction also affected both public and private schools in the towns. The situation which has forced pupils out of their school, while some are taking lectures under a non-conducive environment. Further aware of the fact that matters of this nature and its gravity requires urgent attention of the Federal government or any of its Agencies, and failure or delay in intervention by way of coming to their aide will not only worsened their situation physiologically, but also dampen their hopes and confidence in the Government of the day. Resolve to: Call on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to urgently provide relief materials to the affected Families, School, Church and Mosque. Hon. Odebunmi Olusegun (MHR)
