Todays Solar Picture Of the Day is from our great CBSAP member and supporter Alexandra Hart in the UK. This image is as good as it gets of the chromosphere of the Sun showing Hydrogen atoms re-emiting absorbed light in the red portion of the spectrum from the core of the Sun. She also had a modern times visitor in one of her images that never hampered early astronomers in Europe. The UK has a rich, rich history of astronomical discovery dating back to Stonehenge and I am proud to sponsor a strong group of observers and imagers there that continue this tradition and share it with us.
