Todays Woman Crush Wednesday goes to Edythe Saylor. Ms. Saylor was a Physical Education teacher at the University of Montevallo during the 40s. She was an adviser for the Athletic Association and the Y.W.C.A., Ms. Saylor was influential in all types of physical education from archery to folk dancing. She taught several different courses throughout her time at Montevallo such as archery, folk dancing, general physical education, etc. Saylor House at the University of Montevallo is named after Ms. Saylor. Although the house that is now Saylor House was built much earlier it was renamed to honor this beloved Physical Education professor. Today Saylor House is used for Faculty Housing for the University of Montevallo. One of Ms. Saylors most lasting legacy is through her scholarships. There are two scholarships named in honor of her the first is for Freshman girls/women enrolled in the Kinesiology program and the other scholarship is for non-freshman women/girls enrolled in the Kinesiology program.
