Todays diary entry: Dear Diary, Last weekend I had to buy a pad of A3 tracing pad. I went to Cass Art and while in there I got dazzled by all the art products and something came over me that I wanted to start up painting. Next thing I knew I had one the stores assistants giving me the low down on painting. We decided that watercolour painting was the best medium for me to start learning with. I was following her around in the shop like a puppy. She knew her stuff. I went into Cass Art to buy 1 product, the tracing paper. I walked out of Cass Art with the tracing paper plus a set of watercolour paints, a complete set of brushes, a pad of A3 watercolour paper, a rubber and a glue stick. I managed to spend 6 times what I was meant to. But I didnt care because they gave me a free Cass carry bag cause I has spent over 30 pounds. That place should have a warning sign out the front: Enter At Your Own Risk! Now I am am going to try master the art of watercolour painting. I am used to using black fine liner in my drawings... there is no black paint in my paint set! I soon learned why when I was watching a You Tube video on How to use watercolours by Shoo Rayer. Mr Rayer basically said black is a no no when it comes to watercolour painting. He said if I had black paint in my set to throw it out! What have I got myself into! This new medium I got dazzled about in Cass Art will be something different to what I am used to, thats for sure.
