Todays exhortation - take me to The King Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” (Esther 4:15-16 NIV) There comes a time in your life that you want something so bad you will go the extra mile to get it. There comes a time when you will have to get out of your comfort zone and do something to move The Kings hand in your life. That was what moved Esther to fast three days and night along with those around her. What is that mountain in your life right now ? Have you considered going the extra mile ? We do have direct access to The Father at all times, but theres something special about fasting which is also humbling ourselves combined with prayer which moves mightily. The Jews were facing annihilation and Mordecai sought Esthers help. She wasnt so keen at first until she realised the magnitude of what was at stake. He sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:13-14). Consider this, maybe for such a time as this, you too have been raised by God to step out and go the extra mile for yourself, family, friends, colleagues, church and nation. Have a blessed weekend.
