Todays featured artist is the great Evgeny Kissin, born Oct 10, 1971, to a Russian Jewish family in Moscow, Russia. Did you know that Evgeny Kissin began playing the piano at the age of 2 and was recognized as a child prodigy at age 6...and is now one of the worlds greatest living pianists? Here is a flashback of Evgeny Kissin playing the piano at a recital in Tokyo at the age of 14. He plays some of the most dazzling music of Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Liszt, Chopin and Scriabin. Even at age 14, he had all the skills, composure and maturity of any touring concert pianist. Astounding. My favorite of this performance was the Prokofiev, especially the dazzling work beginning around 36:00. Enjoy!
