Todays notice from CIIA - potential increases in costs due to changes in government immigration policies. Still no word from Government regarding their role in internet and when NBN is due. Users should continue to monitor use, NOT assume they will have more than 8GB quota going forward. If one or two corporates or govt agencies cancel their plans ( all users are on month to month contracts, so it can happen easily ), or the visitor WIFI revenue drops, then CiiA will loose the margin required to provide a higher quota than 8GB to residential users. With Commonwealth down-sizing a decrease in corporate revenue is a distinct possibility. September Residential Quota: - adjusted to 12 GB September Data Overage fee: - remained at $12 for each 512mb over quota Residential Grace Period Extended: - In order to give residential users time to adjust their habits and lock down their wifi or other devices the maximum bill for September will be $239 regardless how much data was used. Statistics for September: - 75% of the residential users did not exceed the 12GB quota and will pay just $79, this compares favourably to the $73 paid ( on average ) by households in Perth. Going forward: The base residential quota for October for residential subscribers will be increased from 7GB to 8GB - but may be adjusted at the end of October if CiiA has a surplus.
