Todays opinion poll : Since I put strong emphasis on the might of public opinion and the collective determination of right and wrong, I will ask a question and see if I think like a selection of my peers, or if my views might be skewered somewhat. the question; If you use the word how before a statement, doesnt that in fact make it a question, removing any determination of stance or opposition ? I will give you an example. Stopped to get gas at the BP on Colonial ave, just pass Towers, heading towards VA Western. After gassing as I was waiting on a break in traffic to pull back onto Colonial, the 20 something male behind me starts blowing his horn. I guess he thought I should have squeezed a gap. Being the bearer of glad tiddings and joy, I overlooked his zest for travel. When I did pull out, he must have thought I knew the way for he pulled out also and stayed within arms length of my bumper. Now i was hopping to turn right at the light before VA Western, so approaching the start of the right turn lane I turned on my signal and started over. Now you wont belive this , but that silly fellow was already over there traveling in the bike lane ! SMH. Well since I was obeying the traffic laws and pattern, I just went on about my business, which it seems caused him some angst as he locked up his breaks and laid on that horn as if money may sprout from the exhaust ! Since I saw no currency blowing in the wind, I assumed the horn was for me, again. Since my light was red, I decided perhaps I should inquire as to the young lads needs. So I exited my car, and asked Are you blowing that horn at me ??? I think that he indicated by sign language (he threw both arms out with hands turned sideways and opened his mouth) that indeed the horn was for my listening pleasure. So now, I ask the how phrase I belive qualifies as a question; How would you like me to shove your steering wheel so far up your a** that the next time you want to blow it you will have to pick your f****** nose ? He stopped to contemplate that , which further suggest a question as opposed to a threat in my book !
