Todays organizational bright idea. I have tons of info related to my jewelry making, from materials specs, to my own patterns, to tutorials--and theyre scattered across my bookmarks, scraps of paper, and my hard drive. I was considering getting inventory software or making an Access db, when a light bulb went off: create a blog for it! Its accessible everywhere, supports multimedia, has filters & searches, is free, and I already know it. Perfect! So now Im about halfway through entering all the rings Ive cut, complete with the measured dimensions, wire source, and tagging by weave. Not as pretty as a weave pic, but damn its making me smile. :D BTW, blogs are designed to be seen and searched, so its hard to find all the settings to make them private (voice of experience). Easiest way to restrict access is to use your hosts folder management tools (htaccess) to password protect the whole directory.
