Todays prayer: Acts 22:30-23:10 Lord Jesus, I ask you to work in my life and the lives of ______________________ so that each of us will be able to say that we have fulfilled our duty to you in all good conscience this day and every day. Please help us to see any way in which we have departed from our duty to you. Protect us from any false guilt or manipulation in this regard by the enemy of our soul. I pray that you will protect us from hypocrisy. May we never judge others according to your law and yet be blind to ways in which we violate your law ourselves. You have taught us in your Scripture, You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people. When we must criticize the actions of those who hold high office, may we always do so with due respect for the position they hold. As you protected Paul from the harm threatened against him by those with political power, so we pray that you will protect us this day from evil so that we may continue to testify about you to others. We pray together that every member of the congregations in our city will learn not to speak evil of the spiritual leaders of your church, but instead speak of them with respect and honor.
