Todays result: Brayford Cup Quarter Final Chittlehampton 1-2 Ilfracombe A valiant effort again from the lads who on another day, could have won the match. We started well and looks the better team but Ilfracombe scored a quick fire double on the counter attack to knock the wind from our sails. However, after a reshuffle and a positive reaction, we came back into the game and could have been level at the break had we taken a couple of chances. We began the second half as we ended the first and some class play between Kevin Latham and Matt Beveridge carved out a chance for Latham, but the keeper got down well to save. We plugged away and, after Ilfracombe had been reduced to ten men, we got a deserved goal through a spanking free-kick from Josh Wren which nearly burst the net. Alas, that was the last kick of the game and we had no time to push for an equalizer. Out of the 14 that played, 5 lads were carrying injuries and a couple were sick so pat on the back to everyone for their hard work and dedication to the game. Plenty of positives to take again. Were getting there. Cobras.
