Todays second entry in the 17s and over comes from 23 year old show jumper Alex Hi there to all at your tack box :) I will start by introducing myself, my name is Alex Watson I am 23 and my passion is Showjumping, I have been registered Bs for 6 years. I currently have 2 horses jumping BS which are Forever Molly & my new addition Bonanzo IV. Forever Molly is a 15.1HH Irish sports horse, who we also like to call her our little pocket rocket or some days crazy legs :) I have mainly jumped her in the amateur classes because of her speed and she is very rarely out of the placings. My biggest achievement on Molly is qualifying for the Dodson and Horrell finals at Aintree. It was a amazing experience and qualifying for the Grand Prix during the week there was a very proud moment. She finished on 4 faults just rattling a vertical in the grad Prix jump off, but just getting that far was an incredible achievement for the both of us. I will be continuing to compete molly until my niece (phoebe) is ready to take on the ride in a couple of years time, which then molly can go on to teach her and give her all the happiness and proud moments she has given me. I have recently sold one of my other horses that I was jumping BS on, Mirfield Golden Prospect. I brought him as a 16.2 HH 3 year old and produced him to jumping BS level. We jumped the 4 year old classes at Wales and West where he jumped brilliant and showed me how brave he was. Just before selling him he was out jumping British Novice confidently and consistently and was ready to take the next step up to discovery level. Having a youngster taught me a hell of a lot as a rider and has helped me improve my riding along the way. My new addition to my team is Bonanzo IV an 8 year old KWPN. Bono (yes I know the name is ridiculous :) ) is a lovely gently horse, who fills me with confidence which I have always slightly lacked. He jumped abroad as a 6 year and has jumped some of the bigger tracks. The main reason for buying this lovely horse was to give me the opportunity to jump the bigger tracks, which up to now I have never had the opportunity to do. Currently I am jumping 1.05m on him to build my confidence and build a trust between the both of us. He is finding this height far to easy but he is honest enough and willing to wait for me to catch up with him. In the next few weeks I plan on jumping my first newcomers on him and hopefully from there continue to progress through the heights. I am very much looking forward to the future on this lovely horse. My aims for the future are very clear to me and I am very determined to achieve them. I am wanting to pursue my jumping career, getting the experience and confidence jumping the bigger tracks with my new boy Bono, plus hopefully attending some qualifiers bluechip etc :) As I said above I will continue to compete forever molly in the amateur classes up until my niece is ready to take on the ride. My other aim for the future is to buy another youngster to produce. I thoroughly enjoyed producing Golden prospect, the time and effort put in to producing is a lot but the satisfaction you get when you see them mature and improve, you cant buy that feeling :) I currently train with Claire Robertson who is a brilliant instructor and she has taught me a lot and has helped me improve my way of riding as well as improving the way my horses go. To be a ambassador for your company would be huge privilege. I am currently not sponsored or an ambassador for any other company, so your company would be my whole focus to promote etc. Social media is a wonderful place to promote companies which is defiantly one of the places I would do this. I spend a lot of time at show local and further a field, where again I would be privileged to promote your company and to me it would be just as important promoting your business as it would be competing my horses. Where I am based we also run a BHS approved livery yard with a number of livery yard. They very often ask for recommendations of businesses and products again as a ambassador, I would highly recommend your business to these as well as clients I also teach. As well as BS shows I also attend quite a few unaffiliated shows with my 2 nieces to help and support them. This would also another brilliant place to promote business to a different group of people and age ranges. I have said previously to be a ambassador for your company would be a huge privilege and I would put my all into promoting, your products are second to none and I would love to promote them I do put my all into my horses and everything I do, every week we are out either training or competing, constantly working on improving my horses to a high standard. My family are 100% behind me and work hard to help with every aspect of both my competing and producing. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this I very much appreciate it :) Kind regards Alex Watson Forever molly qualifying for Dodson and Horrell amateur finals BONANZO IV jumping newcomers at solihull BONANZO IV training at home
