Todays theme has definitely been independence. I was asked to write an article based on a recent study that found that people had difficulty being alone with their own thoughts. Some study participants opted to give themselves an electric shock rather than be alone with their own thoughts. In this video, Tyrese talks about people being so afraid to be alone that they allow bad people into their lives. On the other side, I am also looking at studies that talk about the cruelty of isolation. One study suggested that the use of solitary confinement in prisons is cruel and unusual punishment. To be left alone with our thoughts is cruel. It makes me wonder...What in the world are we thinking about?!
