QUOTE OF THE DAY: “A WRONG ENVIRONMENT ELICITS FRUSTRATION” Memory Verse: “So Abram left, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran” Genesis 12:4. Your location either constitutes a barrier or enhances the delivery of your desires. Imagine you are standing on the coast, what would you be seeing? What would you be hearing? Rivers, trees, sound of water waves etc. But if you are located in the forest or jungle, no doubt, you will see animals of different kinds and sizes, you will see birds, possibly hear the sound of birds, roaring of lions, hissing of snakes and so on. Similarly, if you locate yourself amid achievers, you will hear nothing but success, see nothing but success; mingle with nothing but success, and in no distant time, you will be initiated into the world of success. Conversely, if you dwell amid failures, no doubt, you will hear, see, talk, think and interact with failures and by the same phenomenon; you will be initiated into the world of failures. Your feelings are as dependent on your frame of reference as they are on anything you have done. For instance, if you are believing God for who to marry, it is wisdom that you regularly visit where singles gather and congregate because they are people of common interest. You cannot possibly locate your would be spouse in the company of married people. If you are looking for a white collar job, you cannot get that in the village, your best bet is to move to the city or wherever such job opportunity is. When God was set to lift Abraham, the first thing that took place in his life was relocation. The choice of where to settle down in life is never a trivial issue. It is fundamental and highly spiritual and must be handled as such because if you are in a wrong environment, everything will be wrong about you. Sometimes when things are inexplicably hard and down, one of the probing and investigative questions you must ask yourself are: ‘am I in the right house?’ ‘Am I in the right church?’ ‘Am I in the right relationship?’ This may be where you missed it. Are you trusting God for something or trying to achieve something? Prayerfully locate yourself where those things are or among those people that have already achieved such. As you see and interact with them, certain virtues get transferred to you, your faith rises as they stimulate you and the possibility of getting what you want is significant.
