Todays update on Annie...Not good news I am afraid, at this point anyhow. After giving her just 2 doses of her medicine, we had to take her back to the vet this afternoon. She was showing signs of swelling and still very lethargic. When we got to the vet, they decided to hospitalize her again tonight and run tests. Just a bit ago, the doctor called form the vet saying they had found a growth on her spleen. He is uncertain if it is cancerous or benign, but they are doing surgery tomorrow and may have to remove her spleen and also examine to see if the tumor has moved to her liver as well. I am going in to see her first thing tomorrow morning, hopefully able to see her before surgery. I have my moments right now, happy at some time from memories, tearful at others when I think of the worst case scenario. I am trying to be as upbeat as I can, but like the Army taught me, plan for the worst and hope for the best. Either way, she is an awesome part of our family and will be forever, no matter what God has planned for her at this junction in her life.
