Todays verse: 1 Timothy 1:15. Put your arm around sinners as if you were one of them...because you are. Paul called himself the chief of sinners. People outside the church have no doubt that we who are inside the church are sinners. They just think that we think we are not. Too often when we open our mouths, we accuse. We condemn. We confront. What if we changed that? What if we came alongside a person and said, I know what it is like...it is hard, isnt it? We all have issues. Some of mine might be different from yours and some the same but I know what it is like to mess up. It is amazing what happens when you put your arm around someone and say, Lets figure this out together. I dont always get it right, but I try. Imagine the church if we all tried to understand people where THEY are, not where we expect them to be.
