Today’s Inspiration – Tomorrow’s Blessings – FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS – Throughout the ages, nourishment through God’s Word has been the one thing that has kept God’s people alive and sustained. Throughout the New Testament, it becomes clear that those who took God up on His offer for a good life through Christ, were the very ones whom God called His children, and the same people He took delight in blessing. We find that knowledge of the Truth is the foundation we lay to conquer in a spiritual warzone. As the scriptures say: It’s better to be wise than strong; intelligence outranks muscle any day. Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel. (Proverbs 24 v 5 – MSG) Teachers are to point the Way, by teaching God’s people how to overcome what seems hopeless in an unjust world. Just like the believers in Berea who were open-minded than others in Thessalonica, they listened eagerly to the Message Paul and Silas preached about the Good News. They searched the scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. As a result, many Jews believed, as did many of the prominent Greek women and men. (Acts 17 v 11 – 12 – NLT) We in turn also need to be open-minded to the truth and search the scriptures for ourselves. Jesus calls us to feed His people with the Word. It has to be the love we have in Christ that enables us to continue feeding His sheep daily. In John 21 v 15 – 18, we see that just before Jesus left this earth, He called His disciples to have breakfast with Him and this is what He said to one of His disciples named, Simon Peter: After breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Master, you know I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” He then asked a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” “Yes, Master, you know I love you.” Jesus said, “Shepherd my sheep.” Then he said it a third time: “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was upset that he asked for the third time, “Do you love me?” so he answered, “Master, you know everything there is to know. You’ve got to know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. I’m telling you the very truth now: When you were young you dressed yourself and went wherever you wished, but when you get old you’ll have to stretch out your hands while someone else dresses you and takes you where you don’t want to go.” Encouragement for the Day: “Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you’re on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute!” (Philippians 4 v 4 – MSG) God bless everyone! :)
