Today’s THEORY for debate. The McCanns and friends are leaving the children at night, as stated, to go and drink and be merry at the Tapas restaurant, and also further afield, if reports are to believed. The Mcs have been in trouble over crying children and so decide to sedate the children (maybe just Madeleine, who we know was on a reward chart for her night time behaviour). On the night of the 2nd, they go out as normal and are happy that the sedation has worked… they don’t hear a peep out of the kids all night, every time they go to check, they just listen at the bedroom door and when all is quiet they assume all is well. They come home, drunk and happy and find the apartment all quiet and they fall into bed into a deep deep sleep. What they do not know, is that Madeleine has, at some point in the night, either before or after they come home, wandered into the lounge, stood on the back of the sofa, fallen behind it, hit her head and died, maybe she has swallowed her tongue or something. She has lain there undiscovered all night, giving the chance for the cadavarine to develop. When they find her in the morning, they are horrified, Kate clutches the body and rocks her baby, leaving c. odour all over her clothes. They bundle her up and put her in the wardrobe. If her body was autopsied they would find out about the sedation and their careers would be finished. They would face neglect charges and their family would be split up. Rationalising they cannot save Madeleine now, they plan a cover up. Gerry phones his mates in Gov’t for assistance. He holds important information regarding nuclear power, perhaps damning proof of a link to cancer near power stations, and evidence the gov’t covered this up, and he uses this for leverage to gain diplomatic assistance. Officials are dispatched to Portugal to help the McCanns. Her body is moved, coincidentally, in the hire car the McCanns will later hire innocently. The individual who is dispatched to remove her body ‘borrows’ the hire car (the gap in the hire cars rental records means the car was definitely not with any other driver, maybe it was taken from a garage and returned, or taken from the hire place and returned). This was done to minimise the risk of a car being spotted and traced back to anyone involved. Bad luck would have it that the McCanns were later put under suspicion because of this plan to evade suspicion. The McCanns genuinely don’t know where Madeleine’s body is because it was removed and dealt with by someone professionally hired through Gerry’s contacts in UK gov’t. The McCanns cry paedophilia immediately, and release pics seeming to market Madeleine as a paedophile victim, to detract attention from the simple accident that happened. They continue to plant the idea that Portugal is a place for predatory paedophiles to keep people looking in the wrong direction. They hate Amaral because he was so close to the truth.
