Today’s topic comes from a female listener, (unedited) Im 20 yrs old my son is almost 3. His father who is 28 and I broke up officially when he was about 1. My sons father got upset at me and told me I wasnt living the way i should for my son and took me to court for sole custody. I was 18 at the time so I showed up but didnt fight so he was awarded sole custody with me having an anytime visitation schedule. I had a boyfriend who lived with me at the time and i pretty much came and went as I pleased. Anyway about 6 months later My sons father started dating a new woman who he had known pretty much all his life (they claimed to be cousins) and she immediately started calling me a bad mother after like 2 months bc she said i dont see my child like i should. I came around when I could whenever I wanted (like every 2 weeks or so) She said that I abandoned my baby. Then she made my sons father tell me that i cant come and go as i please anymore and he put me on a weekend schedule but instead of keeping him all weekend i would bring him home two days early and they got mad again, So he changed it to day trips. I know that he would have never said anything to me if she wasnt around claiming her motherly role. He didnt even let my son spend mothers day with me last year. He spent mothers day with his mom and his gf. TF? She is constantly bad mouthing me but his family comes to my aid, she has become an outcast and I love it. Ive told ______ that i dont want my son around her but he feels like he doesnt have to listen to me bc he has custody. Im thinking about taking them both to court and saying shes a bad mother figure for my son. You think I have a chance? What should I do about this b*tch trying to play mama with my son?
