Today’s story is told by Colonel Jason Blain, first deployed to Afghanistan in 2007, serving six months as an embedded operations officer with the International Security Assistance Force Headquarters in Kabul. In 2009 he was posted to Kabul and Uruzgan as the Commanding officer of 6 RAR. From January to June 2010 he was based in Tarin Kot as the leader of Mentoring Task Force 1 and from July to October that same year he served as Deputy Commander of Combined Team Uruzgan, the overarching ISAF force responsible for operations in the province. This Anzac Day the Australian War Memorial encourages all Australians to remember the service and sacrifice of the courageous men and women who have served our country in all wars. This year we pay special tribute to those who have served in the recently concluded Afghanistan conflict. In remembering those who have served and the 40 men who lost their lives in Afghanistan we are running a series of YouTube videos detailing their service and sacrifice. The stories are told by those who served and their loved ones. This is Colonel Jason Blain’s story: https://youtube/watch?v=ktIqNdlbsxU&index=25&list=PL9NtBRzT05K-OR1a7GmQJlwkGjsqvLLgu
