Tom Collins, Sue Ebeler and the Food Safety and Measurement - TopicsExpress

Tom Collins, Sue Ebeler and the Food Safety and Measurement Facility in the Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis are getting some great press from the ongoing ACS meeting this week. They have used the latest analytical tools to develop chemical fingerprints for 60 American whiskeys, providing distinct chemical signatures that reflect the combinations of grains, barrels, aging and other factors that played a role in their distilling. The findings were presented Sept. 9 at the national meeting of the American Chemical Society in Indianapolis. The UC Davis News Service wrote a press release that you can read here: news.ucdavis.edu/search/printable_news.lasso?id=10718&table=news In addition, this work was chosen to be highlighted on ACS Live, a video-recorded news conference that is then posted on the web through UStream TV.
