Tom Sturiale - Tom is a member and past pres of the Rotary Club of Framingham. Been a Rotarian for past 9 yrs. Currently is the District Membership Chair, Asst Gov and DG Nominee Designate (2016-17). Started as a materials eng, then after graduating from Harvard Bus Sch went into manufacturing mgmt. Retired as pres of an industrial valve manufacturer in Worcester MA. Post retirement career was in personal financial management. Married, three daughters and four grandchildren. Jim Fusco - James (Jim) Fusco Fitchburg, Massachusetts, USA Governor, Rotary District 7910 for 2015-16 Past President, Montachusett Area Breakfast Club James (Jim) Fusco joined the Montachusett Area Breakfast Club in October of 2003. He was President in 2012-2013 & in 2006-2007 when his club was certified as a “100% Paul Harris Fellow Club”. He has served as the PR Chairperson, on the Board of Directors and on the Membership Committee. Jim is a Paul Harris Fellow and a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI). On the District level he has been honored three times as District 7910 Rotarian of the Year, served as chairperson of the District 7910 Bandey-Hefler Friendship Exchange for 9 years, District Conference chairperson in 2010 and 2013, District PR chairperson, Coordinator of Assistant Governors, District Trustee and Treasurer of the Multi District (7910, 7930 & 7950) PR Grant Committee. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts as an Industrial Engineer and was previously employed by General Electric as a Field Service Engineer. He worked in the Food and Beverage Industry for many years and was a past member of the National Restaurant Association Advisory Board. He is retired and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Fitchburg. Jim can often be found behind the lens of a camera at Rotary functions, cruising, visiting his Bandey Hefler friends in England, but more often than not, in front of his computer. He also enjoys a good game of pool, dominoes, or cribbage. Jim resides in Fitchburg, MA with his wife, Karen, also a Rotarian. They have two daughters, Holly and Heather, and three grandchildren, Abrianna, Alexander, and Jonathan. Both Tom and Jim presented “A Guide to Increase Membership” that included the following key points: Need for a strong foundation and a continual, consistent, and sustainable Process Rotary Value Proposition – networking, fellowship, prestige, personal growth, humanitarian projects Why Add New Members – More members = more good projects, Growth & Survival, fresh ideas in technology and community service, respond to changing community needs. Attracting New Members – No silver bullet – no single answer - a marketing job, stress value proposition – translate good works into strong selling points = value proposition – Rotary pride leads to member attraction. Managing the process – Appoint an energetic Chair & committee, Set Goals, develop strategy & Monitor, target list of prospects, use news media & press releases, develop “Elevator Speech” Have library of Rotary information, Develop timely approval, induction, and integration process. A final note – You need to Ask! After the presentation both Tom and Jim answered many questions from our members. The presentation was well received and it provided a helpful guide for our own community reach out efforts.
