Tomorrow - Trail Mama, Runner and I leave for California. Runner arrives this evening. We meet with Joe Johns tonight, who did the Southern Tier in June - the very ride that Runner and I will be doing, except that he rode it from St. Augustine to San Diego east to west. Runner and I will be riding from San Diego to St. Augustine. Besides for just the shear joy of seeing the southern US at 12 to 15 Miles an hour, I am riding for the Madina Village School. Madina Village School is in Madina, Sierra Leone, Africa. It only take $360.00 to pay for one childs education and/or $3,000.00 to pay a teachers salary for this school year. I hope if you read this, you will make a donation to the school by writing a check to Madina Village School and send it to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 4700 Vance Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46807. I will keep you posted on the donations received. I will also be riding to honor three people whose Christian Faith I try to emulate. It is my plan, that you will understand why they are such role models for me by the end of my ride from San Diego CA to St. Augustine FL. I will be riding for Carrie Williams Morelock, Pastor Ted Blosser and Enos Burkhart. Two of the three have been very instrumental in the vision and the reality of Madina Village School. The third, I have known since she was three years old. She has an incredible smile and lives life to the fullest. Please pray for a safe journey for Trail Mama, Runner and I and encouragement us on the journey by responding to this post. No encouragement will be to small & and any encouragement will be appreciated. I hope some will be inspired to join Runner and I for a day or two somewhere along the journey.
