Tomorrow I will climb Cadillac Mountain carrying a stone in honor of Army Sgt. Larry Roukey from Portland. Larry is a true hero who so believed in serving our country that he re-enlisted in the Guard after 9/11. Larry had a life goal of through-hiking the Appalachian Trail. While Im hiking tomorrow I will be carrying a pack that was carried on a through-hike and I will tell him stories about the AT and we might even talk a little Boston Red Sox. Larry was killed in an explosion six weeks after arriving in Iraq. He will never be forgotten.
