Tomorrow! #Mexican #DayofTheDead in #Vancouver Dia de Los Muertos Day of the Dead Festival at Vancity Theatre by VIFF Vancouver International Film Festival Hours: 6:15 pm Art Exhibit by Ari de la Mora and Altar. 7:00 pm Macario film screening with a previous introduction and explanation of the Day of the Dead custom. . 8:40 pm Hot chocolate degustation, prayer for the departed and a set of traditional songs by Mariachi Los Dorados, Tom Landa and Caudillos del Sur Folk Ballet. VIFF presents a special Día de Muertos event featuring Macario, a 1960 classic Mexican film performing Ignacio López Tarso. This film is based on a short story by German author Bruno Traven who lived much of his life in Mexico. It was first published as The Healer (Macario means healer) and later as The Third Guest .
