Tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 10 offers “Drive Through Recycling” opportunity for citizens For those citizens who are ready to drop off their recycling items but don’t want to get out in the cold, there is a great opportunity offered tomorrow, Saturday, January 10 during the “Drive Through Recycling” event at the Joplin Recycling Center. They can bring their presorted, bagged recyclable items to the Center and stay warm in their car while volunteers unload their recyclables, including cardboard, paper, aluminum, steel cans, glass, and #1 and #2 plastic bottles. Offered from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., this event is in recognition of Joplin Recycling Center’s 15th Anniversary. For those who have surplus building supplies, they can drop these items off during this time at the Center - Habitat for Humanity ReStore will have a truck there accepting these donations during the event. In addition, there will be Center tours, activities for the kids, and hot chocolate to enjoy while helping the environment. This recycling event is sponsored by: Joplin Young Professionals Network, US Bank, Habitat ReStore, Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center, and Service Recycling.
