Tomorrow is my last day nannying B1, B2 and B3 as they have affectionately, and sometimes, not so affectionately :/ become known. I am going to miss them ... and I have learnt so much from them ... children dont care if you have been out all night partying, they want breakfast at 0630 and the googie egg with its head chopped off had better be just right. A 2 year old that has been allowed to sleep for almost 3 hours at day care turns into a malevolent, snarling, mischief bound creature at approximately 35 minutes after its regular bedtime. 4 year old boys miss their mummies like a meditative breath, deeply and constantly. 7 year old boys are complicated, need to be reminded to use cutlery, all the time ... need to be reminded to flush, all the time, but can dream big, soar high, know what lemurs eat, remember the iPad password, every time ... swim like fish, use the pooh word at least 487 times per day and share some pretty amazing thoughts. Boys love to be naked, build, destroy, throw, jump, annoy, bully, fight, pee outdoors, watch animated movies, snuggle, stroke old, crinkly, soft skin, stories about love or animals or magic, dressing up, super heroes, dressing up AS super heroes, girls, LEGO, dinosaurs, going very fast, making noise. Little boys dont like ... baths or showers, although it varies, being little, having their hair washed, cleaning their teeth, using cutlery, being teased, not winning, being ignored, their mummies working, nannies, at least for the first 100 days :( ... I reluctantly send them to another state, another school, another nanny ... I just hope she learns to love them like I do, at least after 100 days ....
