Tomorrow marks a week after the operation on my right shoulder - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow marks a week after the operation on my right shoulder rotator cuff. The surgeon had scheduled 1 1/2 hrs; it took over four. The cuff was really a mess. Now I have to sleep sitting in a recliner for the next 12 weeks. I have a sling for my right arm that has a pillow and straps attached to it to hold everything in place. They almost did not do the operation as I flunked my EKG. My heart muscles were out of rhythum and i guess had been for quite a while. So that explains my waking up several times each night for months, thinking it was asthma when in actuality my lungs were running out of air. They sonic tested me for blood clots; none found. So they decided I was ok for the operation. Strange I had not noticed it when awake in the daytime. The two pain-medications I was given: One upset my stomach badly; the other upset my mind. So I quit the Rxes and went on IB Profin. Good thing I have a high pain tolerance; the IBP works well enough. Started PT today. Will finish that about Jan 1. I am doing this with my left forefinger. Its tired. I am going to stop.
