Tomorrow marks a year since Victor and I came back from Ethiopia with Craig and Vicky....It was an emotional visit with a great deal of tension since the one before it didnt end well....I was terror struck at Addis Ababa airport when officials asked for documents seeing that we were as white as a sheet and the kids, well, they are Ethiopian :-) Arriving in Malta I really wished to kiss the ground beneath the plane.... This year was marked with the great love Victoria and Craig received from our family and friends and from people I didnt know before,......the majority of people in Rabat stop to greet the kids ....people I dont know buy them treats, they are all happy with the presence of two black Ethiopian kids in their midst. Not all people are though....a case or two of unfriendliness on Facebook since the adoption, attacks on a racist page and accuses of putting the children on show.....these are a minority of people who have not yet understood what it means to love thy neighbour as you love yourself. We are greatly indebted to the nuns at the orphanage where our kids were kept...they took care of Craig and Victoria when we were not present; I wish I knew the persons who found them; I wish I could tell their parents they are doing quite well and they just learnt to say NO :-) We are also greatly indebted to all volunteers from over the world who at Kidane Mehret Orphanage cuddled our kids before we arrived Jeanette Muscat Karen Vella Jennifer Lloyd and all others who took care of them To Yvonne Spiteri Bianchi Joanna Spiteri and all others who helped us become parents a big thank you.....its been a year and a great one!!!!! The kids caused a big upheaval in the house ; we simply love them because they gave us so much more than we try to give them every day.
