Tomorrow morning, as we prepare to observe the Sacrament of the Lords Supper, we will have the privilege of singing these words from the pen of the prince of Scottish hymn writers, Horatius Bonar: Thy works, not mine, O Christ, Speak gladness to this heart; They tell me all is done, They bid my fear depart. Refrain: To whom, save Thee, Who canst alone For sin atone, Lord, shall I flee? Thy pains, not mine, O Christ, Can heal my bruised soul; Thy stripes, not mine, contain The balm that makes me whole. [Refrain] Thy cross, not mine, O Christ, Has borne the crushing load Of sins that none could bear But the incarnate God. [Refrain] Thy death, not mine, O Christ, Has paid the ransom due; Ten thousand deaths like mine Would have been all too few. [Refrain] Thy righteousness, O Christ, Alone can cover me; No righteousness avails Save that which is of Thee. [Refrain] In Morning Worship tomorrow Pastor Josiah Jones will preach again from the Gospel of John. His sermon, “Expectations of the King,” will be taken from John 12:12-19. As this is our Sunday to celebrate the Lords Supper, we will gather in Covenant Hall following Morning Worship to enjoy our monthly fellowship luncheon together. When we return for Evening Worship tomorrow, we will continue our series in 2 Samuel. Pastor Jones will preach from 2 Samuel 14:1-33 about “Wiles of Worldly Wisdom. As we prepare our hearts for worship tomorrow, let us remember today: To whom, save Thee, Who canst alone For sin atone, Lord, shall I flee?
