Tomorrow we walk for all those who suffer at the hand of the - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow we walk for all those who suffer at the hand of the emotional, 24/7 relentless Type 1 Diabetes. Tonight my daughter screamed crying that she wanted to die. She is 6. Her needle from the infusion site on her pump got bumped and caused excruciating pain. After a site change, the tears settled. What she screamed tore threw my heart like a bullet. No one understands what these kids endure. We tell them to be resilient, to accept what they are challenged with and to live life to the fullest all while battling the side effects and symptoms of a chronic illness. Type 1 diabetes not all the time, but sometimes makes you hit rock bottom. Even at the tender age of 6. Sometimes no matter what you tell your child to fight for it feels like a losing battle. Tonight I had to paint rainbows for my daughter and encourage her to believe in herself and her bravery. Tomorrow will be pivotal in helping me believe this also. It will be an emotional day seeing all those who have been able to make it, band together in walking for a cure. A dream, a hope and a belief that kids like my daughter will one day be spared from feelings like tonight. Thankyou to you all who have supported us, donated, sent best wishes and above all cared. You will never know how much it truly means to our whole family especially our Isy. Xox
