Tomorrow you can help someone fight cancer. Please take a minute to read this. Even if you cannot make the event posted below, there are a few ways you can help. First I would like to tell you a little about the organization that is hosting this event. Their name is Working Towards a Cure and they help people in our community who are fighting cancer. I dont mean that they give money for research. They dont. Nor do they have any paid staff or board members. The money that they raise, every single penny, helps people in this community cover the costs that are not covered by insurance. Sometimes the things that they help with are medicine and medical supplies, but not always. Sometimes they help with a bill. Sometimes a client might need a ride to treatment. They might help someone with repairs to their home or car that they cant take care of because they are sick. This organization seeks to help take the worry of financial strain away from their clients so that the person can concentrate on getting better. These people are really helping others in a tangible way. I am proud to know them. They need your help. Heres how you can. Tomorrow from 8-12, at the Alton Amphitheater, they are holding a fundraising event called a bra walk. It is a $20 dollar donation to participate in the walk. You will receive an event t-shirt (with a bra on it for you to decorate if you wish) and you may also participate in some contests and games. The event will open with a memorial service for those who we have lost to cancer, and there will be a V.I.P. tent set up for people who have beaten it. My point is: Some very special people have worked VERY hard to make the event happen. If you are able to come out and support them, I wish you would. Even if you arent able to stay for the day, it would be amazing if you could stop by and make a donation. If nothing else, please share this event with your friends.
