Tonight: At Council we reluctantly passed Resolution 14-07R, this resolution was to approve an alternative method of apportionment of the undivided local government fund of Clark County. The state collects taxes and distribute’s it to the Counties then the Counties passes it on to the other local governments. So the photo shows what the City of Springfield, New Carlisle, and other local governments get from Clark County. The problem is that NC is being cheated out of money, Springfield is around 10 times the population of New Carlisle but yet they receive about 67 times more dollars than we do. So we passed the resolution 5/2, doing this will make sure we receive the $28,000 a year from the LGF. I voted no as a protest vote with Dick Zsambok and all of council is in agreement that this practice is unfair and we are sending a letter to the county again protesting this practice.
