Tonight I am a bit sad, The Fired Up Duck was dead alongside the drive through. (She has hatched eggs every year next to the bank) This year she hatched a family of eggs next to the drive through and then took them across the four lane road and then came back and laid another bunch of eggs. Tonight I came out and found her dead and her eggs were there cold..... I scooped them up and wrapped them in a pair of sweat pants, turned my heat up full blast put them under the heat vent in the van and went to the Farm Store and bought and incubator. I just looked through the shells with a flashlight and they are all moving... fertilized eggs.... Now what will I do with eight wild ducks....??? I am excited that they are alive.... We have enjoyed watching her sit and hatch them each year. Really sad that she is gone.
