Tonight I have celebrated my life as a Registered Nurse in the NHS . !! 33 yrs !!! Thank you to those who shared this with me ! Brilliant night !! .. Although I cannot forgive the way the NHS has dealt with my situation ... Ive had surgery for a slipped disc in my back ... Due to my career !!! Fit enough to return to my job ... 10 years later I suffer another slipped disc in my neck to be told ... If you carry on ... Youll end up in a wheelchair !! Or even worse !!? .......No compensation No help for my future !!! Where do I go from here? .. What choice. ? I loved being a nurse !! Thats who I am. !! but Im not that foolish to risk my well being !!! Thank you all for the great times and of course getting me through the bad times too !! I leave with the best memories !!! .... But I leave with my P45 thats all !!!! Other than my injuries. !!! Caused by my job !! But Im one of the lucky ones ... I have something to go onto !! So sad for those less fortunate than me ... That have to leave this profession with no back up. !! Oh dont get me wrong. ...they offered me an office !! But Im a nurse !!! I cant be stuck in an office ?? It would drive me crazy !!!!! If I stayed id feel I was milking the system. ... I couldnt do that !!! So best to leave and find my own way !!! Thanks for the memories guys !! A little worried about the future of the NHS though :( best of luck guys ... Will miss you :( xxx
