Tonight I went to the movie Boyhood, and while I was intending to write one of my silly little reviews, I was stunned at the entrance to the townhouse complex where I live by a fox crossing the road that passes our entrance. Two cars slowed down to look more carefully, and I thought that fox must be long gone. But then I walked across the street and through the entrance, and there was the fox sitting atop the rock wall that borders the entrance looking out at the road. He was in the light, so clearly visible. I stood and looked at it not 20 feet away, and it looked back at me. Didnt move. I thought it must be an Abyssinian cat or something not seen on our town streets. I walked a little farther, and it jumped down and walked parallel to me but heading to the West, while I was heading East, but still only about 20 feet away. It was in clear light now and fully extended, and I could see that it was indeed a fox. I have seen many foxes over the years in this rural area of California, but never one so relaxed and close up. So, no Boyhood review, but go see the film anyway. Well worth the 2.75 hours it runs. Very good.
