Tonight, I will joyfully and excitedly be standing, cheering, thanking and proudly wearing my #24 jersey in Section 320 of the West Balcony at Madison Square Garden to welcome back the 26th Captain of the NY Rangers, Ryan Callahan, as he returns to MSG ice for the 1st time since being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Martin St. Louis on March 5th, 2014. While I have always had great respect and admiration for Marty St. Louis during his 14 year, future HHOF career, his road to New York came at a very emotional, painful and tearful price. Because without question, Captain Cally gave every ounce of blood, sweat, tears and then some during the 7+ years he defined what it meant to be a Broadway Blueshirt, and for that - as well as for the hundreds of times he lifted me off my couch or out of my seat at the Garden - I will be forever grateful.
