Tonight and in the am as everyone wakes up I hope you take time to read this headline and meet my sweet friend Jake and his sister Reagan. He has been in the hospital over 6 months and his family could use a pick me up.....please check out the Amazon Wish List and send some sunshine their way. All items will come to our office and we will send a big box to be delivered with extra stuff!! Remember kindness means nothing if we do not spread it to those that need it the most!! Jake Is 10! We celebrated his birthday this year at Cincinnati childrens. We were admitted April 10th 2014 for a bone marrow transplant. Today is our 201 day. 6 months. Jake has adrenoleukodystrophy. X ald for short. This disease if untreated will take over the brain and leave the patient comatose. This disease is deadly in boys. Girls are carriers. I am the carrier that gave this to Jake. x ald usually take vision and hearing first. We have been blessed that this is not a worry for Jake right now! Our set backs have come from the bone marrow transplant itself. Now we are dealing with gvhd. Graft vs host disease. In his gut. We are slowly getting better However it is a very long process to heal.
