Tonight at The Ellington Jazz Club - Perth from 7:00pm - Now entering it’s fifth year, The Dilworths are heading into 2013 with a new lineup, new compositions and new recordings. The band began as an ensemble to workshop Eamon’s compositions and evolved into a high energy modern jazz group that has become a mainstay on the Sydney jazz scene with performances at leading venues 505, Jazzgroove and SIMA. The compositions are strong melodic devices that are turned, twisted and developed through improvisation into powerful, emotionally charged and often high energy performances. In 2009 The Dilworths released their debut album on Jazzgroove records entitled “Introducing The Dilworths”. The album was launched to a full house at Sydney’s The Basement, with a support set by mentor and teacher Judy Bailey, and since then the band has gone on to perform in various venues on the East Coast of Australia. Eamon is a 2010/2011 Young Australian of the Year Jazz Bell Awards nominee, 2007 James Morrison Scholarship Finalist and Umbria Jazz Berklee School top scholarship recipient.
