Tonight couldnt get here fast enough. Weve had a long night and day without much sleep. Our oldest son Jay got into ants while sitting outside and had a bad reaction. We took him to the ER (not shands) and ended up going and getting our own benedryl for him then sitting for 2 hours and getting no where with the ER. So we came back to the camper and gave him more benedryl. He finally got relief and went to sleep. But as every parent knows we dont get to sleep. Then up early this morning to get Doug and Carolyn Jo on the road for home. Jen, Jay and I get to the hospital and Halle mets us at the door to let us know that Mitch now has 2 infections in his lungs and we need to not only gown and glove up but now wear a mask. She said that they have tweeked his antibiotics and she isnt worried about the infection. She said lots of patients get this when they are on a ventilator. Mitch didnt wake up as much today. The few times he did he would look at us but Im sure he was trying to figure out why we had masks on. Again Halle said that she was really glad that his body was telling him to sleep and rest since he had surgery yesterday and the infection going on. Jen and I have really come to know the nurses. If it werent for them explaining things to us and keeping us informed we would go crazy. All the nurses on the floor keep telling us that we are a great family and they love seeing us come in every day. Aurora (friend of ours) came this afternoon and visited Mitch. Us three girls were getting a litle slap happy so to speak, thats when Jen and I decided to call it a night and comeback to the camper and get some sleep. Now if alll of you are wondering why my typing is horrible,, its because I am using Jens tablet and my fingers are too big and my brain cant figure this thing out. So please forgive me for the typos.
